I just bought a set of Hella Optilux fog lights and want to install them. I don't know if they are compatible with the factory prewired wiring but I still want to check. I had my car on a lift and couldn't find the wires. Where are they supposed to be. I have a 93 GXE, they are there, right?
Thanks, Roman |
Check under the hood. Right under the headlights you'll see a longer wire with a cover on it, doubled up on itself and taped. Untape it and you'll find that it's pretty long and reaches down to the fogs.

Good Question

Thanks, Roman Open the hood, look on the drivers side towards the front bumper. You will see a set of wires going to the front bumper lights. Banded onto that set of wires, is another set, with a plastic plug in the end connector. Same applies to the passenger side. I assume that fits right into the SE stock fog lights harness. I bet you could cut off the connector and splice right into your new fogs. Let me know how it works, as I want to do the same very soon. BTW...the switch harness is taped to the mirror control switch harness, and plugs into the stock SE switch, found at most junkyards. I hope this helps! |
yeah
thanks a lot, that really helps.
I also bought a stock fog light switch off of ebay a few months back, so I'd really like to use it and have a clean install. I'll let you guys know how it turns out, I'll try to get to it this weekend. Thanks, Roman |
