What brand of each should I use?
Overboost is using Ross pistons coated by Swain techologies (this is what I will be doing) on the VG30ET. I have no idea what connecting rods or rings they're using. I'm starting to investigate how easily I could use a VG33 block and/or heads to achieve even more power. What would the chances be that my current intake manfold(s) and collector(s) would bolt to the VG33 heads? I guess I'll have to investigate this. Then I would just buy a VG33 engine, and use my intake manifolds and such when the swap is being done. Thoughts? |
For pistons you can go with either Ross, Arias, JE or OEM. For the rods and crank the VG30DE's will do the job. Once you get them have the rods/crank balanced, blue print the engine, install oil squirters, etc. Also if your going the NA route get 10.5 CR pistons IMHO you get better gains with 10.5 than 10.0. YOu should seriously consider running NOS too. If you gonna build the engine a JWT ECU with Nos program would kick *** on a built engine. YOu can realistily see around 180-200hp at the wheels with a tuned 80shot. Keep in mind you will not be able to put the power down without a LSD.
