Auto Transmission won't go into reverse.
 

Help!! Suddenly my 94 Max with 160,000 miles will not shift into reverse. The lever actually engages drive when in "N" and will not rev above 3,000 rpm in P. I have seen some theads on the rear control solenoid failing. Has anyone had similar problems?

Does the go into drive?

Yes it goes into drive- Neutral position actually. The car drives fine forward, just no reverse.

Its your bushings on the shift cable, there is one above the cat. convertor and one where the cable meets the tranny. It's about $5 for both, replace both. They break and fall off the car, so don't be surprise when the nylon bushing is not there.
