Look! First 92 SE on 22's.
 

what modifications need to be done to fits 22's on an 92 se. I have already seen an 3rd gen on 21's, so i know something can be done for another inch. i know it might cost but it'll be my fall/winter project. Please give feedback.

I think you have to cut out the wheel wells, but I dont really know. :gotme:

One would need to modify their "taste" sensors. Basicly turn them all off. :)

depends the width of the rim and tire width i guess...shaved had to modify his wheelwells and maybe his fender to fit his 20s, but he dropped his as well so im not sure

i posted for help not putdowns. everyone has their own taste . some people like tuner wheels and others like myself like chrome. different strokes for different folks. so if anyone can help me in positive manner, you're help would be greatly appreciated.

22"? Doesn't that only leave less than 1.5" of rubber between the wheel lip and the ground? :eek: I guess this is just a show car...

i know i would need the car raised some inches first off but what else along with that for a max. Its also another guy up here on campus with a gxe thats going for 22's as well. he has some 20" KMC Units right now. I have some 16" chromes that look similar to 97-99 Se wheels but they are not cutting it for me. i got those because I was tired of those hard to clean stock wheels.

also shaved has 20's so that link isnt too much of a help. thanks anyway.

a max with 22's will have more ground clearence than a hummer

basicly what im trying to say is if you have to raise a car to get the rims to fit its going to look awful

also do you think it will look good or do you just want to say your rolling on 22's because if its the to be cool thing remember its not a benz or caddie its a 12 year old car.

its the norm in memphis. a majority of the cars down here are on rims bigger than 20's.
ive even seen a protege on 20's. Box caprices on 24's, 300c's on 23's, so looking awful isnt even the factor right now. As many people that are part of the org, i know there is much more input to this.

protege on dubs eh? im thinkin your gonna be the pioneer of putting 22's on a 3rd gen, so any input is just gonna be speculation, ultimately it will be your money and time spent on this project.

Holy crap that is going to look horribly out of proportion. I always thought having some sidewall gave more of an aggressive look. I think 17's are perfect for the Maxima.

22's? uhhh.....that's freaking crazy. I thought I was crazy putting 18's on my car. What kind of width wheel are you looking at? Because with 22's you probably will have a really nasty offset to get them to fit, or nasty rubbing, and you'll effectively turn a car with a bad turning radius as it is to...well....no turning radius at all. 18's, 19's, or MAYBE 20's (see keyword...MAYBE) would be a less far fetched idea if your into bigger wheels.

Holy freaking crap....what profile tires did he use...they look like 40...maybe 45 series. That would put some truck lifts to shame for sure. I think a good rule of thumb is....if you want big rims, go as big as you can to fill the wheel wells....but if it increases the car height....it's too big.
