Lowering Springs - What's the best?

I'm going to change my springs because I'm not happy with the ST springs. I'll be buying something either this fall or next spring.
So what's the best out there for 3rd gens. I have the ST springs and I really don't like them. I'm probably looking at Intrax but what do you guys prefer?

Eibach,
Intrax,
Spring Tech,
B&G,
Suspension Techniques,
Sprint,
Others?

I'm talking about performance aspects of the spring.

Performance? Eibach
Drop? Intrax
B&Gs have not been purchased by any org members (AFAIK), but might be nice.

sorry... i completely forgot that stuff :tardsmash

I mean in terms of performance and durability

Oh,
The B&G springs are quite excellent IMO. A friend of mine has them on his 3rd and and they're great. If I can't find a good price on Intrax, I'll likely grab the B&G springs.

Define "performance". Eibachs will give the best handling. Pretty much any of those springs are durable (maybe not Springtech). I've never heard of a spring breaking unless someone messed with it (cut a coil or heated it to change the height).

-shock211- Sep 14, 2004 12:52 PM

lets make it easier,
i don't want eibachs. what spring(s) are up to par with the eibach in terms of ride quality and handling?

ElVito1981 Sep 14, 2004 02:53 PM

why don't you want eibachs? I have them, and they're great

Jeff92se Sep 14, 2004 02:58 PM

Eibachs from what Matt says have the highest spring rating. Therefore the best performance. You should be more specific with your questions.

You want low and high spring rates. Don't know if any of the above qualify. What you need to do is research each maker and ask them what the drop and spring ratings are. Then decide.

boosted3rdgen Sep 15, 2004 02:24 PM

i think hes looking for a lowering spring with a higher than eibach spring rate, thats just what i put together from reading all this, sorry if im late on the topic

andy21 Sep 15, 2004 03:45 PM

same opinion as mizeree x
eibach for performance
intrax for looks

MrGone Sep 15, 2004 03:55 PM

Eibach for performance
Stock for looks

:o

Kikcaffine Sep 15, 2004 07:18 PM

I think he really wants the Eibachs, but cant stand the price. Do your self a favor buy it correct the first time, and then you dont have to the second

TightBlack97 Sep 15, 2004 08:41 PM

I will have some Eibachs soon off my old 89 that are virtually brand new. They were on the car since March have about less than 6k on them.

-shock211- Sep 16, 2004 07:09 AM

i don't want the eibachs because i want more drop.
i'll just call the factories and get the spring rates.
thanks for the help ppl.

I'd get B&G or Intrax then.

D-sta Sep 16, 2004 07:54 AM

Get Eibach's :)

-shock211- Sep 16, 2004 10:39 AM

yeah, it will likely be intrax or b&g that i get.

no eibach :tardsmash

D-sta Sep 16, 2004 10:45 AM

uhhh again, your title said best spring, EIBACH is the answer :)

Buy Eibach's.

ElVito1981 Sep 16, 2004 01:45 PM

yes, I would agree

VASHtheSTAMPEDE Sep 16, 2004 02:25 PM

From what i can tell, he's looking for a spring that is on par with eibachs(performance wise),but with a bigger drop.
Am i close?

MaximaBalla Sep 16, 2004 02:56 PM

Hey Shock, what's so bad with the ST springs that you have now? How come your not happy with them?

You are close but none are made like that.

Shock---Intrax Springs are good but you are going to need a camber kit and some good struts to soften that ride a little.

|Bijan| Sep 16, 2004 04:13 PM

Intrax def....

ElVito1981 Sep 16, 2004 04:23 PM

I would say Eibachs any day over Intrax. Eibach is a more presitigious brand. After all, it's German, and when it comes to cars, German engineering and manufacturing spells excellence.

artythe3rd Sep 18, 2004 03:00 PM

i would deff. go with intrax great handeling n way better looks then eibach, with eibach ur just buying the name

CamryKilla Sep 18, 2004 05:50 PM

I'm probably gonna go with Intrax soon, but someone said something about a camber kit? Is there anyone with Intrax that needs a camber kit?

Mizeree_X Sep 18, 2004 06:00 PM

Ummm, you are also buying great handling. Not everyone buys springs for the drop.

avg Sep 18, 2004 06:25 PM

i would like 2 suggest sprint springs. they have great performance and the drop is .6 more than eibachs. i have them on my max and they work great. :doublethu

-shock211- Sep 19, 2004 10:00 AM

yeah,
i was curious to know if anyone had anything to say about the sprints. so they're decent?
