stupid and childish but....

Hello again,
i know it sounds childish but i still like it..I want my car to have a wooooosh sound(turbo like). Is there a way to make it sound like that by making a hole somewhere or something? Will I get the it if i make a very tiny one right before the MAF?If yes, will that affect the way the car is running. I already have a cone filter in it but the sound it makes is not what I expected. Any input?Pretty much i want it sounding like there is a vaccum leak kinda?Again, i know it's stupid but that's the way i like so please be gentle and save the bs.Thanks in advance

My cold air intake makes a turbo-like noise. Please don't buy those kits on ebay that simulate turbo noises. If you do, never let the org know about it.

Good Idea but costs is to get a turbo kit made for your max. Costs but you have the real thing.

Hehe,
don't worry. I'll never buy one of those. What I have on my car is a nismo cone filter. I have also added a small hood scoop right on top of it and it looks and works great. The weather got much colder in Minneapolis the last couple of days and it sure made a big difference. But,never the less, it still doesn't sound exactly how i want it.Any ideas? Thanks for the reply

I drove the car around midnight last night from Belle Plaine to St. Paul. It was cold like hell. The first thing I noticed is that the way the engine sounded changed. Also, the mid power was noticably better and very...very sweet. Last weekened i drove my old 91 GXE and it was much slower then the 89 Se i drive now. I installed the hood two months ago where it was still hot out side and to be honest the difference was not that big. But for the last few days i can honestly say that I am a really happy man

Let me say that my car doesn't look that good at all(at least outside but the interior is pretty nice) plus I paid for it $500. I changed bunch of things on it so the cost by now is probably close to $1000. Anyways, the point is that making holes through the hood of the car is not a problem for me . I got the hood scoop from ebay for like $15 plus shipping. It looks good enough and has a mesh grill. If you look really close through it you can actually see part of the filter. I am waiting for the snow as well since I am wandering what consiquences that will have but so far (3500 miles since installed) i've had a lot of fun and no problems.

Find a car with the sound you like and tape it. Play that tape back on your system really loud. You don't want the performance or cost, right? Just the sound.

I've heard it ALL now.... "turbo sound"???

But in all seriousness, I've seen something in one of my import mags (near the back of the books) that had some kinda electronic device. It looks like something similar to an alarm system and costs around $200. Basically, what it does is that it monitors your tach and when it hits a certain programmed threshhold, it emits a "whoosh" sound.

Now, how is THAT???
