Newbie Talk
What's up everybody. I wanted to say hello. I just picked up my Maxima today and it's my first Maxima, or foreign vehicle for matter. It's a 94 GXE charcoal grew inside & out with 150k to be used a daily driver. I'm used to older GM cars & trucks. After nickling and diming for a long time I decided to get something a little more user-friendly. I also have a 92 Chevy Silverado short cab, short box, 2wd with the 350. I am in the process of swapping a LT1 in it. That's my toy It should be finished By mid 2k5. It has a 2/4 drop (soon to be bagged) bed cover, 16" Chevy rallies & BFG rubber. Plans include a GMC grille update, leather interior, sliding rag top..... Back to the Max... I'd like to lower it a little, tint the windows, update the lights, and add a factory style spoiler. Maybe a set of 18's, CAI, and cat-back exhaust (nothing too loud). Anyway, just wanted to say hello. Great site, btw. Later

The reason I didn't talk too much about the Max is because I don't plan on doing too much to it. Like I mentioned before, I'd like to lower it slightly, put on a factory style spoiler, tint the windows, 18's, CAI, and cat-back. That's about it. I want keep it somewhat stock but with a few bolt on's. I'd also like to add a HID conversion. As far as the truck, I can also be found at fullsizechevy.com. How do I attach pics? It says that I may NOT attach anything at the bottom. I don't see the option.

Welcome to the .org! Hopefully, you will get a lot of good use out of your max. I like it when "muscleheads" cross over and realize imports make better daily transportation.
I would get a y-pipe before I'd get a cat-back. A lot more performance gain to be had there.
I like those lowered Chevy short boxes. They look tight. There are a few of them in my town, including one from the late 60s/early 70s that I drool over all the time.
you have to have a pic hosted, then use the to show it in the post. I think with so many people using maxima.org, they just don't have the server space to host all of the pics people want to show.

Thanks again for the replies. Next Newbie question: How do I "host" pics? Like mentioned before, this is the first foriegn car that I or any one in my immediate family have ever owned. I take that back, my dad had a 72 Datsun truck that he heavily modified back in the 80's. I've always like the Maxima fom the 3rd gen to the 5th so I was able and picked it up. I'm extremely impressed by the car. It rides nice and smooth, but I'd like to firm it up a little. It has excellent power in stock form. I test drove a few different Acura models from the 3.5 to the 2.5 (sedans only) and none of them seemed to have the pep of the Maxima even with having double the miles. I got it from a dealer, but I am the second owner of the car. There are only a few flaws. I need to replace the hood shocks and the Bose display doesn't work. I'm going the replace it soon. Other than that the car is near perfect condition. I figured that it would at least run around 300k without too many problems. The first owner took good care of it and had things like the timing belt replaced. I love the car already.

www.cardomain.com is probably the best way to host pics.
I have had some guys recommend photobucket.com, but I haven't used it.
You can get springs/struts, front strut tower brace, rear sway bar, front sway bar, rear strut tower brace to firm up the suspension.
Matt93SE is the 3rd gen suspension guru and he makes rstb's along with upgraded components. He is the one to talk to about your suspension. I think he has tried almost every imaginable component on his car.

www.cardomain.com follow the directions and you can host pictures on there. Unfortunately, there use to be how-to's in the 'Test' post forums on this site but is no longer there.
