!HELP! MY MAXIMA DOESN'T IDLE UP WHEN I USE A/C, HEADLIGHTS, ACCESSORSRIES, ECT.

1990 SE A/T

IT'S DONE THIS FOR A WHILE NOW, AND IT'S GETTING OLD. :slant:

AND THE HAYES REPAIR MANUAL SUCKS A BIG ONE

NYmax91 Nov 24, 2004 04:47 AM

sounds like a computer issue. get a code reader and see what it says or even call a nissan dealer and ask. people need not be afraid to ask service guys questions, they might tell you over the phone!

I READ ABOUT A fAST IDLE CONTROL VALVE IN THE HAYES MANUAL, BUT IT DOESNT SHOW WHERE IT IS ON THE VG30. IT HAS PICS OF THE 88 MOTOR., COULD THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR BE PART OF THE PROBLEM?

505max94se Nov 24, 2004 10:53 AM

Maybe the alternator is going out??

Scope Nov 24, 2004 11:13 AM

I second that.

TPS : I sell those
IAC is by the throttle body (piece where your accelerator cable connects to. right by the TPS

Yourself Nov 25, 2004 11:39 AM

you can test your tps in "switches on\off mode"

puna2k Nov 25, 2004 11:55 AM

IS IT IN THE THROTTLE BODY, OR UNDER IT? AND THIS IS THE VG WITH THE THROTTLE BODY FACING THE FRONT OF THE CAR.
I TESTED THE TPS WITH A FLUKE 18 AUTOMOTIVE METER. NO OHMS AT ALL, DEAD.

internetautomar HOW MUCH $?

avmaldo Nov 26, 2004 09:20 AM

could it be a belt problem? In the winter they could be getting cold and stuck.

puna2k Nov 27, 2004 04:35 PM

The IAC is toast, resistance from connectors 3 to 4 is gone. time to spend some $$. and I adjusted my TPS and my car is faster on the take off, with no stumble
