I took my car in for inspection and it didn't pass because the left high beam won't come on. They said they checked the fuses and changed the bulb, but still only the right one works. Anybody know a fix? The high beam indicator light on the dash also doesn't work, I'm not sure if the two are related.

relay?

Do you have day-time running lights? You know, when you start your car the lights automaticly come on? well if you do, when the running light modual (located under the steering wheel and has 2 wire harnesses in it)gets fryed or disconnected, only the right high beam works.

I don't have daytime running lights, but that's odd how only the right high beam works when that module goes bad. I'll try to check relays tomorrow, just not sure which one it might be.

I finally took the car in to get fixed because it needed to pass inspection. It turned out to be the headlight switch assembly on the steering column. Total job was $130, $80 for the switch and $50 on labor. It's an easy job to do by yourself, but not many of you guys seemed to have this headlight problem anyway. BTW, another garage quoted me $260 and said that the job required removing the entire steering wheel. Obviously all of that was not necessary, only the top portion of the steering column had to be taken off.

FINALLY!!!!
At least one person to keep us updated! People ask, why's this, what's that. Some try to answere and then the thread ends! I'm glad someone kept us informed!
