6x9s in front doors?
I took apart my door panels for the first time today, and it looks like we have a lotta room in there to fit speakers. My dad had 4" speakers put in the front not too long ago and they put a real thick cardboard piece covering the hole in the metal, and the speaker is mounted in a cut-out hole in the cardboard. Is that space that the cardboard covers big enough to fit 6x9s?

yeah you can do it, i know someone had taken the bose grille out and used his aftermarket one, there was a tiny gap on the bottom but it looked sweet.
i used the plastic speaker pods that the non-bose came with and put 4x6's in the front. i only had to cut small notches in the plastic to get my speakers to sit right. no more rattling with my ghetto ducttape and thin plywood i had for the time being.
ps did you sell your rims? and when let me know when you want me to take the springs off your hands.

I put my 6x9's in the doors when my 6.5's were stolen, it's tricky lining it up but they fit. That said, if you're amping them I'd recommend going with 6.5's. They definitely sounded better, much more midbass with round speakers.
