It's very cold over here in Washington, hoses begin to crack

I'm driving home after school on I-405 and I look behind me and I am just barreling out all this smoke and the car is about to overheat. I am so pissed and praying it's just a hose. I replaced the radiator hose not too long ago, but when I had my thermostat done, the mechanic says it may be time to change some hoses. Though and behold, my small thermostat hose had cracked due to the 20-30 degree weather. Everyone out there be aware of how cold it can get and how it can affect your car, though I know most of you know this, jus a little heads up :frosty:

Thanks for the headsup  We had negative highs after Christmas and my car ran fine with only slight valvetrain clacks for a second during a cold start-up.

Yeah im in Port Orchard and it is very cold here in this part of Washington also. Im hoping for some more snow though. I dont want to take another spill in our huge Chevy G30 Van though that was scary. Just learning how to drive in the snow and Ice.

Geez, you Seattle guys are too spoiled by the normal 50 degree winters...

At least ScreamingVE knows a little something about real cold weather.

I havent run into any problems with my Max yet except a leather stearing wheel in the winter is really cold in the morning. lol. Im gonna get some nice gloves to solve that problem.

Volvo has an answer: heated stearing wheel. Next mod? Tell me if it works...

Rubbertubes crack because of time, heat. Aging starts from day one, on this planet tied to time...

r u serios? u cannot b serios!

if by "frickin freezing" you mean ~44 degrees.... then no. :D

Oh, and get some Kraemer's Home-remedy washer fluidŽ! Four parts water, one part...

1) 100 Proof vodka (for any other cold day)
2) 80 proof pepermint schnapps (for Christmas! plus, when you use it, it smells good
3) Everclear, for those REALLY cold days...

this way, you don't need to worry about freezing! :tardsmash

my car doesnt even spray windshield wiper fluid. I dont know whats up. It sounds like its trying to pump but its not a big deal since my windshield never gets dirty.
