Are VE and VG MAF's different?

Subject says all.

I just had MAF go bad on my 2001 PF, and I am worried and want to look for one for my beloved Max... Just wanted to know if one from a VE will work on a VG.

Jeff92se Feb 8, 2005 03:38 PM

MrGone Feb 8, 2005 03:39 PM

Yes, they are exactly the same, I've swapped my VE with a VG before...same part number and everything.

Anyways, I dont sell mine before it blows...

HELLO! ANYBODY knows the source for the two MAF 50 cent resistors?

internetautomar Feb 9, 2005 07:07 AM

I sell new and reman ones. so if he wants used he can start with the first one in line.
If he wants a new or reman with warranty he can buy from me.

95turbo gxe Feb 9, 2005 10:42 AM

well after everyone sells theirs. I got one for sale too.

Cliff Clavin Feb 9, 2005 12:56 PM

Well, I have a spare one and it's not for sale...:wall:

You had better make sure you get the right one. Your 2001 Pathy should be a 3.5 VQ, which probably has a different MAF.

Pyrophilus Feb 9, 2005 06:30 PM

Wow, I didn't know so many people had so many extra MAF's...

Anyway, why and how does one fail? I mean, can it be repaired? What is the component that fails? Is it electrical or mechanical?

subs1000w Feb 9, 2005 06:55 PM

theres nothing mechanical in the maf to fail so yes its electrical but i have no idea what fails and really dont care since i can go to the junk yard and get one from any one of the 10 or 15 3rd gens that are there
