Question for those who installed Koni red's
I cut the front struts and removed the inserts already. I drilled the hole for the bottom as well but when I put the new insert in it does not hit the bottom of the strut because of three little notches on the side. Should I just cut more of the strut so the new insert hits the bottom or should I just try to knock it in. I am asking because I am not sure if the insert should be nice and snug or if it is just floating in the middle of the strut because of the bolt on the bottom. Thanks.

The insert definately needs to hit bottom of the strut body, that way you know the screw/bolt goes in the bottom all the way. Here is another tip, make sure you put lock tite on that bottom screw/bolt. My brother in law has already had his fall out of both sides, so I put them back in with lock tite and there are no problems. Dont use too much, cause you want to be able to take it out for adjustments in the future, just enough to hold it on good.
I would definately cut the strut body more, you really have to get low on it, that big spring base will get in the way (especially if you are using a grinder). |
Thanks for the help! The car is on jackstands right now but It wont be for long :D
