Car doesn't start!!! Doesn't even crank until after 20 times
 

A few weeks ago, the car wouldn't crank until 10 turns of the key. Well, I tried to start the car this morning,(93 VE auto) and it wouldn't crank. Only the radio was on. Just a click and no crank. Then I put the hand brake down(worked right after i put e brake down before), and it still didn't work, Then i hit the brakes and moved it from park to 1 Just in case it was not in park. Still wouldn't crank. 10 more turns with the key , it finally started.

i had a problem like that in my 240sx. turned out i had a dead spot in the starter.

It definately sounds like your starter is gone, I would stop cranking it before you run down the battery and end up replacing that. The starter is a piece of cake to replace on the VE.

The starter in the VE is brushless permanent magnet (no dead spots possible). The VG on the other hand has brushes.

I'd check the nylon bushings on your tranny shift cable. there is a bushing at both ends, they usually break and fall off the car, then the ECU will not let the car start since it doesn't see that the car is in park.

if it is the starter, tapping it with a wrench may make it work..then you'll know that the starter is bad.
also, take out the starter (very easy, remove negative battery cable first) and take it to a parts store; kragen, autozone, etc. they usually check them for free.

Depends on automatic or manual.
The manual VE uses the same starter as the VG.
The auto VE is special
BTW the car won't start in 1st only neutral or park

can i take the auto VE starter and put it in my manual ?

Ve auto is not swappable with the VE manual that I'm aware of.
