Hmmm, I'm kind of doubting this too, after all it is April fools day. I didn't see any mention of selling the max, then again I can't read.

If this is an April fools joke then this will be the second time today someone tried to mess with me. This morning my girlfriend broke up with me and then followed it with a big stupid "April fools"

Find Cefiro's. They're a PITA to install. 5 hrs for the passenger side alone.

OK, it's midnight for you East Coast kids, so I guess the April Fool's joke is over. I think Shawn had a few of you going, especially since he has a habit of buying crap he doesn't really need. I thought more NW guys would chime in, being as the dealership I got it at is about 15 minutes from Shawn's house.

Anyway, thanks for (mostly) ******* my new ride.

We wanted to replace our VG powered 2000 QX4 with one that had a VQ, since we bought a travel trailer last fall. My wife also wanted black with tan leather interior because she thinks it looks sophisticated or some BS hehehe.

After not being able to find a decent QX4 near me, I searched the net and found this one. It has kind of high miles, but I got a good deal on it because of the mileage and the fact it was the end of the month. Car salesmen always want to cram a few more sales in near the end. I paid a lot less than the advertised price. Plus, I was happy to get rid of the 2000 because it was getting close to 60k, where I should have been replacing the T-belt.

Here are the options the newer one has that my 2000 didn't:

VQ engine (+70 hp and 65 lb ft over the VG)
better tranny (NEW DUETTE)
HID lights
17-inch rims
tow package
heated seats (front and rear)
analog clock (cool)
in-dash 6-disk changer
driver side memory seat (2 settings)
radio controls on steering wheel
auto up and down on windows and moonroof
electro-fluorescent gauge cluster (back lit)

Maybe you guys like other rides or whatever, but this one works great for us. We live in an area that gets lots of snow and ice and we live on a big hill. In fact, I kept my set of studded snow tires already mounted on aluminum rims, so that was a bonus.

We also spend quite a bit of time in the mountains and back country hiking, camping, hunting, fishing and generally enjoying the outdoors. There are a lot of places we go to that I wouldn't feel comfortable driving a fwd car or even a Subaru Legacy GT.

As for gas consumption, I live two miles from work and my wife works maybe three miles away, so our total combined commute is about 10 miles round trip. Therefore, we only use as much gas as we feel like using.

Anyway, this is a nice 4wd SUV and It is packed with luxury options. I think the only things missing is the Nav system, which I would rarely use, and the video system, which comes with a VCR instead of DVD.

Nice ride Red92MaxSE.

I didn't really think it was shawns anyway. That's why I thought it was his parents or a friends.

Also to add to it.

I was going camping for the weekend and left at 2:30pm Friday so I couldn't finish the joke. Actually I was trying to get Chris to post pics of it at his house and say I was visiting hehheh.

I have to say sorry to Jeff, I wanted to stop but had to keep going, and Diego wasn't too happy either . Jeff gave in quicker than expected, probably because he know's me. Dan threatened to call the dealership . I drove the Durango all weekend, even passed 123456 miles on it

and then 2 more

I think you would have to convert the whole front end -- hood, grill, lights and possibly the bumper and fenders.

One thing I miss from the older QX4 is the yellow factory foglights. I might have to put some in this one. It looks even better with the HIDs.

mm yea 3.5 > 4.3
but i never attested to loving the 4.3, its just good enough to get by and for the occasional burnout

when your done with that, you might want to try this blazer next

5.7 > 3.5

Because the insurance on the second car is like $15 a month.

Actually, my wife and I have three cars (2001 QX4, 1992 Maxima, 1975 Dodge truck) and a 17 foot tent trailer and the insurance for all of them comes to less than $100/month.

You guys on the East Coast get screwed on insurance because you have to park all of your cars 3 inches from the next car on the narrow streets that were built in 1770.

the pull off would be closer than you think.
230 ft lbs@ 2800 vs 240 ft lbs @ 3200
basically it would boil down to tires, traction and gears

ehh... they call the miata a gay man's sports car but with a nice turbo kit those things would toast a lot of cars out there (same goes for the mr2 however i think the mr2 looks a bit better than the miata). i kind of understand what you mean though. when they first came out i thought the things were the ugliest cars in existance... and now i own one and love it.

Oh, yeah, my QX4 also has a limited slip rear. I would still think that a chebby engine is better for pulling, just because, well it's a chebby. I am fine with what I have, even if most SUVs can outpull it.

The Jimmy is 14 years old and is showing it. Smoke on start up, low on compression, etc. I wouldn't put the money on it, and it only has 143k on it. I'd take Chris's car any day.
