A/C with Digital Air conditioner

The question is real simple : how can i check if A/C works with the digital air conditioner ? I know i got to put it on AUTO and some cold air will blow out when its too wark outside for normal air to cool the car . I checked for pressure in the system , but i dont know if compressor is workin , can i check this too ? The pressure in the system was not very high , i just pressed the valve with my key and a PSSHT sound was heard , so i presume that i dont got a leak .

Thanks in advance !

well you can hit the down arrow and turn the temp way down to see if the ac kicks on. Then look at the compressor. It has a clutch on the end of it. It is still when its not on (the pulley is turning but the end isnt). When the clutch kicks on the end will be turning with the pulley. You should be able to sit there and watch it engage and disengage.

Compressor clutch may be activated with jumper wire to +12V... If liquid level is ok, pump works, the long hose to cabin will get cold. (Btw, insulate the hose) http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/748507/7

5 ltr. beater "Which hose do i insulate for the VE?"
- the thick hose from pump carries all cooling liquid through the hot [idling] engine compartment. Its area is one huge heat heat sink: as it stands non insulated, half freezepwr is lost. Locate pump, only one cold hose running to cabin. Some insulation over it [any] hlps. I wrapped cloth. Make sure whatever u do, is tightly wrapped and will never get loose between belts or touch exhaust.

Also input hose to heater gives hotter air during winter.
