I keep hearing that they are ajustable. Anyway has anybody installed these shock without tampering with the adjustment. If so, are they stiff? You see, i plan to install these shocks straight out the box without messing with the adjustment and i just wanted some feedback.

Bad idea. I don't know what the default settings are but you would also want to confirm they are all on the same settings. If the default is full soft, you might not want to ride with them that way (Although full soft is probably what stock is or a bit stiffer). If default is full stiff, you will kill youself trying to ride on them that way.

If you ever wanted to adjust them later, it will be a big pain

I think full soft would be softer than stock, I had mine at 50% and it was a pretty nice ride.

I would do what Jeff said though, make sure they are all at the same setting. If you do 50% I think you'll be happy with it.

A few questions, Is $600 shipped for koni struts a good price? Has anyone seen better?

There's a vendor in the group deals section who has them for $475 shipped.

if you do not want adjustable shocks and dont care what stiffness they are set at, why dont you just get the kyb for less than half the cost of the konis

I usually go with tokico but they always blow on me. I heard koni's are pretty good when it comes to there quality. How are theses shocks?

If you have lowering springs I'd stick w/ the Konis. KYBs are like a high-quality OEM replacement.

i havent used the kyb gr2 but they are stock replacements maybe slightly stiffer. i believe they should last longer than the tokikos unless the car is lowered more than like 1.5 inches. i have the konis and they are great. i have them set at about 85% stiff and that is probably too stiff for most as it can get pretty harsh on rough roads

A tech at koni says the struts are shipped full soft.

Mine will be set at 75% firm cause I'll be riding on sprints..

Can you have the firmness of the shock set before they ship them?

Why would you want to? Just set them all the same when you get them.

If you are worried, just set them at 2 or 3 of 5 and you'll be fine.

WTF? it takes 5 min to set all of them. just do it and be done with it before you install them.

sure, you could see marginal benefits by matching them up on a shock dyno, but nobody in a street car needs to go that far.
