Stuck in DC? Help!
OK well I'm on the second leg of a big 'ole road trip, just pulled in from Pittsburgh. Somewhere around Indiana on 74, I noticed my car kinda sputter through first and the first 3k of second.....not an engine thing, a tranny thing.
Well I went to parallel park in Wash DC today and when I let out the clutch to go in reverse it started bucking and shaking and grinding and didnt really want to reverse at all. So crap. 1000 miles from home and this starts. What could it be? The tranny was rebuilt about 30k ago. Could it just need fluid? Well give me some advice please! Talk about a fun killer...worrying if I'm going to make it back home...BLAH! Thanks so much. Caleb  |
did you try any forword gears to see if they worked
well lets put it this way, you were lucky to get 30k out of a rebuilt tranny. try changing the fluid.
Yes I tried forward gears....I drove 1000 miles to get here. Reverse stopped working in Pennsylvania.
The obvious question is: Have you checked the fluids yet? Have you noticed any leaks?
