Let's talk about lights.

What kind of bulbs does everyone use? One of my Aux lights went out and I want to replace it with something brighter, maybe even a whole HID kit (not for the headlight).

Jeff92se Jul 6, 2005 10:22 AM

Scottie, I need rice factor 7 NOW!

Alex_V Jul 6, 2005 10:33 AM

I'm pretty sure if you put a HID kit in your foglights/etc Dan will drive down there and beat some sense into you :run: :noes:

You will blind everyone

internetautomar Jul 6, 2005 12:29 PM

I'll sell you the ricer lights off of my integra.
they've got that nice blue tint to them :Puke:

Sweetazzmax Jul 8, 2005 05:55 PM

Hey guys I cant seem to start my own thead so ill just add to this one, I have a light problem with my car. I installed hte new cool blue bulbs for the fronts, and before I put the lights on I tested the old bulbs and it was the one side on high beam that wouldent come on, SO I figured the new blubs would fix that. once installed the same problem the one side dosent work. Now when im on running day lights the passenger side light dosent work but the driver side (the one with the bad high beam) works.
ANy clues? WIring diagrams?
strange problem :hyper:

johnson Jul 9, 2005 10:04 AM

Jeeze you guys are idiots. I said BRIGHTER. I guess I didnt get the memo where bright = rice.

tripleGmax Jul 9, 2005 06:31 PM

your question is so vague "what kind of bulbs do you use?" if youre looking for brighter in stock housing the sylvania silverstars are brighter they are what i have. also calling people idiots usually doesnt get you anywhere in the help department....you....idiot. ;)

internetautomar Jul 9, 2005 07:50 PM

I've got wagner brite lights in my car.
they were one hella of an improvement over what was in there.
they're just pretty tough to find anymore :bawling:

kcidmil Jul 10, 2005 06:48 AM

I have all Eurolite blue on my front end. Wouldn't recommend it unless you plan on adding driving lights.

My highbeams are about as bright as the driving lights by themselves. In other words... my headlights are for decoration

Rice????? have to have a ricer first for it to be ricey

OBEEWON Jul 11, 2005 01:53 PM

I used H1's.

tripleGmax Jul 11, 2005 04:10 PM

yo obeewon, hows that 240?

hartley Jul 11, 2005 06:06 PM

I am also interested in upgrade all my light bulbs. I am going to use silverstars where possible. I would like to do all the others in halogens or leds. I can use all the help you can offer.

tripleGmax Jul 11, 2005 06:10 PM

looks like you got it figured out dude  corners are brighter with leds otherwise silverstars can be had cheap at walmart ($35 pairs)

Supercross Jul 11, 2005 07:13 PM

Pardon the question, but what size LEDs would fit in the corners?

kcidmil Jul 11, 2005 07:44 PM

Well you'll have to get the 3357 for the turn signal illuminator (which mine was hard wired to stay on) and 194 for the side marker on the corner lamp.

Supercross Jul 11, 2005 11:47 PM

Where would I be able to find these LEDs? Are there any local auto parts stores that might carry them?

tripleGmax Jul 12, 2005 04:15 AM

whatever the size, just go to ebay or :google: say something like the 1157 led bulb and youll find someone selling them. they are technically illegal for the streets i think so you wont find a huge selection at parts stores.

Actually... my local Napa has a HUGE selection of LED bulbs. In all the common sizes.

and LEDs are only illegal if they show a medium-dark blue. Red in some states (like SD) NY I believe is illegal to have any color on the front end.

The crystal blue (white with the slight blue ting) put out by most colored eurolite bulbs is perfectly legal. I used to run green on my Frontier for the longest time.

Blew the KA. Im about to order an RB25DET or an SR20DET front clip next week. RB is cheaper but requires more parts and has less aftermarket support in the US. Keep me in your prayers.

I was trying to buy my max back for the time being but the fool i sold it to recked it and put 10k miles on it since he got it.

kcidmil Jul 13, 2005 09:33 AM

How exactly did you blow up the DE motor? I have one in my truck and that sucker has taken a beating. AND pssst... btw, the KA series are really good and powerful, they just require ALOT of air. I should know, I've played with both the E and DE versions.

tripleGmax Jul 13, 2005 09:44 AM

im pretty sure that KA was built for boost, but now im seeing why homie sold it to you.

what a douche bag, the dude who bought it wrecked it.....geez

lol ill keep you in my prayers.

It may be a problem with your daytime running light (DRL) module. I had a similar problem, and when I (finally) tracked down the module, I discovered one fried-out relay. New module from Nissan was $120

OBEEWON Jul 14, 2005 09:15 AM

I was driving on the hiway and smoke started pouring into the cocpit. Pulled over and opened the hood, and flames shot up at me. I took my stuff out the car and moved it really far away. I thought the whole thing was going to blow. Not one person stopped for me.

The KA is nice but you got to spend cheeze if you want to boost it. Plus u got to have time. But for the money you can get the R33 motor, or the SR which has so many parts for it its a sin. I was planning on boosting the KA if it lasted but its all gravy baby. I really expected it to blow. But not this soon. Thats why I havnt put an engine in it, caught my wallet off gaurd. Ill post pictures of my swap when its done if you guys wouldnt mind reading about something besides VE and VG's.

kcidmil Jul 14, 2005 09:21 AM

It may take some money. but one of the best mods for the KA is a Ram air/turbo. Ram air alone will keep you butt planted in the seat. I did up a custom ram air on a 90 Nissan D21 pickup. OMG could that thing haul after that. And it was only an automatic. I miss my old truck :wtc:
