Hey everyone I was curious about this and I wanted to know if it would work. I rewired my VTC's today (see other thread) and I just had an idea and was curious if it would work or not. If you increase the timing after doing the VTC rewire wouldn't that help even out the power loss around the 3500-4000 RPM zone??? Please give any input that you can, thanks. PS...I did a search on this and didn't find anything. Thanks!

It will help. But you might want to think about getting those VTC's fixed.Or leave them half assed working.Because when the VTC's are working it does make a big difference.VTC's suck when they fail but they are sweet when working.

Yeah but have you heard them when they are starting to go??? That is almost as bad as when my exhaust manifold bolts broke! The noise that the engine makes is so embarassing!!!! I have so much pride in my car and I was ashamed to even drive past anyone when they were making that noise. I know VTC's do kick butt though, they are definitely a good asset, but to spend $1800 to have them fixed just to get a little extra boost??? Nah, I think I will pass.

Yeah,I hear ya!.Mine are loud as hell at first then they settle down and I can tell the difference on the take off from when they are ticking and not.But some people just cant stand the ticking. It is pretty embarassing when I pull out from working the car sounds like a damn tractor.LOL

Hahahahaha! I know exactly what you are talking about, my car sounded like a freakin' diesel before the rewire! Maybe I shoulda done the ultimate "rice boy" move and stuck an old Mercedes Diesel sybol on the back and the people would think it was supposed to sound like that! LOL ! A simple solution to a difficult problem!
