Bbbbbaby - it's cold inside!

Can someone tell me why, when I have the temp pushed up to 28C, it's blowing very warm air into the defroster, warmish air onto the feet, but d**m freezing air out of the centre air vents?

Winter's coming, and I'd like to be able to be warm this year!

It sounds like the fresh air lever to the far left is in the open position.

mtcookson Nov 2, 2005 02:12 PM

i.e. make sure this lever is pointing down when you want heat

Yup.

Boy, do I feel foolish. Who knew there was a lever there? Well, obviously you guys did.

Guess I gotta rtfm once in a while.

I have a problem with heat too this year, but I am afraid its not that switch. My top heater hose running into the firewall is hot and the bottom one is cold. Sound like a heater core plug up?

mtcookson Nov 3, 2005 07:13 PM

yup. when that happens i just hook up a garden hose to them. one on the top, one on the bottom. flushes all of the nasty junk out and makes the heater work great. that's what has always worked for me.

my heater has been good since my coolant system was flush last year,

i have heat after 15-30 minutes,

First the easy -IF- ...with the Valve:
- Vacuum hose to intake ok
- hoses connected properly
- one way valve works
- electric/vac valve works, gets signal
- valve actuator works
- valve really opens...

Btw. Why not read the forum? 'Each one' of the ten pages has 2threads on this issue?

Thanks for the info guys! I noticed I am missing the one way valve on vacuum line to the manifold. I'll try that garden hose trick too with a flush. Thanks much
