Something's draining the batt. (its not the alt)
 

What's up people. Maybe someone can help.

So about a week ago I went to use my remote start, and it tried to start the car but then the alarm went off. I found that the batt voltage was low and when the engine went to crank, the voltage dropped so that the alarm would reset. So something is draining the battery, I kinda drew some quick conclusions and thought it was the alt., so I swapped in my high current alt (its been collecting dust for a couple years :) , 210 ampeare). Anyway, that didn't solve the problem.

So I disconnected the negative on the batt, and connected an ammeter in series, and saw that something is drawing about 1 watt ( 0.1 A at 11V ). With the ammeter in series, I began disconnecting relays, fuses, and fuseable links. The 75A "main" fusable link (letter H) did the trick, this feeds some relays and the horn, but the manual isn't 100% clear on everything it feeds. Anyone have a similar problem, its freezing cold outside :hyper: . I know the horn switch on the steering wheel is problematic, but its not like my horn is going off, but maybe its just barley making contact and its not enough to fire the relay? There are hella supertones installed and I used the supplied relay, so the factory relay fires the new relay.

Also, even with the battery showing 11V there still is enough juice in it to start the engine, its a good batt, exide orbital select (gel cell) about 2-3 years old.

you need to look at the wiring diagram and track down what ever else is on that circuit. Mucho fun Mucho fun :hyper: :read: :hyper:

Sorry,we get carried away sometimes...but seriously diagnosing wiring bugs on the internet is almost impossible unless someone chimes in that has had the exact same thing happen to them...Do as internetautomart said and really dive into the wiring diagrams of the affected 75amp fuse..

the wiring should be the same as 94, so you can try the AZ link in the stickies.
if not let me know, I bought the 92 FSM hardcopy a while back and I have the 94 in zip some where
