My Window won't go up!

hey guys, i have a 92se. when i put the rear driver window down it wont go back up without me sitting there playing with the switch for like 5 minutes. Anyone know what the problem is/how to fix it?

can you hear the motor working or not????? did you try the rear switch???? your front switch may not work or oyur window regulator may not work or your motor may be shot

when u do finally get it to go up (wow..that just sounds wrong!), is the travel fluid or jerky? does the switch on the rear door work? if the rear switch works and the front doesn't, then i'd look further into the master switch panel. i would think the easiest thing to do is to take out the master switch panel and check the rear driver window's switch's contacts and continuity...

but if both the front and rear switches don't work, i'd look into the motor/regulator

well i dont hear the motor, i have tried the rear switch, and it goes down fine. it will go up fine too but only after i play with it for a while.

**edit
WHEN it goes up it goes up perfectly smooth.

do u have a multimeter (or a test light) to check continuity - to see if the switch is actually closing the circuit? i just really hate taking interior panels off so i tend to exhaust all other options before doing so.

i would check the switches before pulling the panel off and replacing the motor/regulator

Now thats funny.....:007:

Multimeter or test light are NOT needed here!!
If you are havin the same problem at the rear switch then your problem is in the rear switch because the front switch control goes throught the rear switch, by which I mean if you were to unplug the rear switch the window will not operate from the front switch.
So you will need to replace the rear switch.
You can verify this by unplugging the opposite rear switch (the one that is not having a problem) and plug it into the problem side and operate the window!

my driverside sometimes does the same thing i found just holding the button down for like 30 sec made it work eventualy.

I think it is just a contact on the switch itself
