I need to get a new key cut for a 92 maxima SE. Dealer needs key code from me, they said vin # is not enough info to them because in those years vin wouldnt bring up key code on computer. Anyone know where I might be able to get key # off the car? How many digits am I looking for?

THanks

You might try to find out the original dealer that sold your car new...They may have the key code on file..

Otherwise, I believe the key code was on a little metal tag on the ring with the original keys and red valet key.

Um lose your only key? If you have a spare, just go to any locksmith? Old Nissan keys are easy and cheap to duplicate

I dont know the orginal dealer car came from and I dont have the little metal thing that has the #'s. that was on the original key chain. I was told by someone to look for the code in the glove box but no #'s there either anyone know somewhere else to look?

well since you can't open the glovebox you can't look there for the key code.
that's where both my grey maxs had it.
an alternative is to pull the trunk lock out, assuming you can open it, and take it to a lock smith to make a key.
I had to do that on my old cherokee
