Is it possible to get OIL into transfer case??

ok, Ive been leaking gear oil about 2 weeks now.. out of the drivers side seal, i have the seals on the way, i will fix them ASAP.

but now, ive been topping off my gear oil every few days just to be kinda O.K.
umm this morning I noticed a larger than the usual say 2" dia.. circle of gear oil, this was more of a bout 1 foot not drenched puddle but it spread, and the color was "rusty".

the gear oil that was leaking out before which was only about 1 year oil, redline mt-90 gear oil, was still yellowish and clear.. NOW, i just took off my fill plug to top off (ive been topping off with um, some cheap gear oil, forget brand name, but its 80-90w and its gl-4 rated with LSD approved additives) So umm, anyways yeah, the fill plug is oozing out like its full.. but the gear oil coming out is very dark, like blackish and the consistincy of it just doesnt seem right..
im alil worried somehow maybe water, or oil is getting into the transfer case??

it shouldnt be dripping out of the fill plug.. it should need alil bit of gear oil to drip out if anything.

1. it's not a transfer case.
2. it does sound like water is getting in. I'm not 100% familiar with the manual trans, but looks for someplace that water can get in through (obviously). Is the breather hose still present and formed correctly?

my bad, trasmission

The only possible way I can think water would get in is.. thru the same way the oil is escaping, but that would be a challenge to said water if you asked me.

idk, i will know more when i tear it all apart, i can inspect things closer then and see the oil better..

and the what hose? :) haha, Will have to check out my FSM alil bit and check that out!
