Yeah, I made up my mind. I'm joining the USAF and need your support by buying my parts. It's been a real heart ache but I can't haul this where I'm going.

sucks, man. what are you gonna do with the rest of the car?
and (I guess) congratulations on your decision.

Yeah, +1. Would have been cool to see this car done. Where's Michael to take over a project when you need him.

bLiNg_ThEoRy Aug 24, 2008 03:57 PM

Yeah. I'm gonna miss my boy Goon9 (teary-eyed). I'll be alone in GA now.

saxytothemaxima Aug 24, 2008 04:18 PM

wow.
What happened to the Max you were building when I came over to pick up the hood? That was a nice Maxi!
congrats on your decision. MY great grandpa retired from the USAF.

goon9 Aug 24, 2008 04:27 PM

I just got Way ahead of myself and don't have enough to get it road worthy. After basic and tech, I'm moving on a base with the family, so no room for the maxima.

It's real hard working on something for years and just have to part with it. I can't wait for the next project. I might get another maxima to beat around in. They're fun even in stock form.

:) I'm not officially signed up, I'm giving myself 2 months to get everything sold and ready to move. But I'm going for sure, it's taken a year to make the decision.

Do you mind telling us what you're doing in the air force?
Maybe you can put some jet parts in your next car.
Stay well.
I would like somethings but I'm broke, VG, and don't live in GA for pickups.

505max94se Aug 25, 2008 11:54 AM

That's a tough decision, but I'm sure it's for the best. Good luck! :)

CapedCadaver Aug 25, 2008 12:04 PM

anyhow goon... good luck with your military career. I was gonna go into the Navy but in the end, I didn't have the stones to go through with it. But I've got all the respect in the world for our men and women in uniform.

DAMMIT, GOON!!! you are gonna hafta post up your own pic thread, just to recap all the ballzy stuff you have done. you have shared a little bit, but let us see the whole picture (or album, rather) of what you had done to that kick a** car. BEFORE you start selling it all off.

(p.s.) much love for the man who made the car, and props for the decision to join the usaf.
