Hey guys, I don’t have the pics yet :( my friend can get his digital camra to work..

question : how do I keep my tires from spinning off the line?? I don’t have sport tires (even though they say sport on them )
.. do 3rd gens. Have Traction control systems? Just wondering

1. learn how to drive your car.
2. get tires that aren't made of plastic.

look at what you posted.

how do u make the car spin off the line? it doesn't do it on it's own. you acclerate too quickly for the road condtion or your tires are bad. spinning tires is LOSS of traction. when he said learn how to drive...go ez on the gas pedal..maybe you'll get more traction. :rolleyes:

Id watch who you call an *** around here. exspecialy moderators and well respected members like Matt. Dont think of it as people putting you down, just advice and constructive critisim.

Okay, now to answer some of your questions :) Like Matt said, you might try getting a more aggressive performance oriented tire (ie, stickier, probably more expensive) or upgrade to bigger rims with wider tires. The amount of straight-line traction improvement you get depends on how hard your current tires are now, but don't expect a miracle unless you are going from Cheap Al's Petrified Econo-Tread to 235/45 R17 sized DOT autocrossers.

There is NO TRACTION CONTROL on our cars. Your right front tire will light up every time unless you have a 92-94 SE which have a limited slip differential.... in which case both tires will light up every time.

Mmm, I don't think Matt is an ***, but I do think he could have thought of a nicer way to respond to that.. I remember not too long ago I was asking a bunch of newbie-style questions, and I didn't really like when people dissed me in repsonse..

I think that sarcastic answers are alright, especially when it comes to simple questions. I mean people go through a lot making stickys and a faq section and things of that nature. I mean its ok if you have a question but at least try and find an answer yourself before you run to make a post. I read the thing that said "read this before posting" and it answered a lot of my questions and even ones that i didn't think that i had. They are really useful to newbies and should be taken advantage of, people get tired of answering the same old questions...

I agree with you that the FAQs are helpful. I like to help myself to info as much as possible, and I don't think I asked a lot of questions that were obvious or answered when I first came here, BUT I don't think people need to be rude nonetheless. Personally, if I come across a message that I find to be asking a stupid question, I just don't answer it! If nobody answers his question, he'll probably go do the research himself, or whatever. I already run into enough rudeness at my job, I don't need to dish it out :cool:
