Someone called me and told my that their check spring was missing in the power steering system. According to the previous owner thats why it's not working corectly. Anyone familiar with this parts existance and function?

I have dealt with pretty much every component on my power steering. the only check valve I know of is inside the power steering pump, on the high pressure side.

you can get the spring, but if your pump is making a metal to metal sound or when you look at the top tank and you see metal flakes, its best to just change the whole thing and put in transmission fluid not power steering.
