r-12 to 134 problem
I changed over to 134 and every compressor i find only last 3-4 months, they are used x3. i have 134 a/c hoses and accumulator. I pre-charge the compressor with pag 100 and fill with 134, it'scool for a couple of months then it starts to go down. any suggestions.

are you sure your compressor is failing? are you using proper amounts of gasses and oil? did you just slap nipple adapters on, and call it good, or a complete change of 0-rings, condenser, lines, etc? have you taken it to a shop at any point for AC service? are you using 134 compressors, or r12? is the original drier in place, still?

yes, I've taken it to a shop twice for the precharge, oil, and 134 and leak check. I'm using a 134 compressor with 134 lines and a new dryer unit. the line coming out of my firewall to the compressor is 134 and the line leaving my compressor to the condensor in the grill is a 134 line. This is the 3rd compressor blown!

Did you change the evaporator? I believe the r12 evaporators have a thermal expansion valve to throttle the freon flow where the r134 don't so it has to rely on a thermo control amp to turn the compressor on an off to prevent the evaporator from freezing. Not sure if the evaporator works well with the new freon so that may be a thought.
Last year I did the conversion myself and to make sure I did the job once I changed everything that involved with the AC. Even got the thermo control amp hooked up and working. No problems so far.
