125 stock? You're a brave boy! I got mine up to 105 one time when it was still stock and the front end got so light that I thought it was going to lift right off the ground.
I decided no more of that until I got some things done to it. The Stillen front spoiler helps stick it to the ground at those speeds.

Holy_!
How much distance did you cover to get up to that? Mine stayed at 134 for quite a while. Didn't seem like it wanted to do any more.

I went 150 in mine.... the speedo was over by the 'l' in unleaded!! I shoulda got a pic of that, but being a smart guy, nobody else was in the car and I wasn't about to let go of the wheel. 6300 RPM's in 5th. BTW don't ever try that if you got stock susp. in your max. I hit a bump and nearly lost it.

at about 100 it pulls nicely. um. . i was racing a saturn (which was pretty fast, it was all hooked up and stuff) at about 125ish it was starting to not pull as hard, then about 135 i was like "come on baby come on" then about 140 i was like "damn this is getting kinda scary" and that's about where i chickened out. it wasn't pulling that hard, but it was a slow progressive climb. . . . i dont' think i'll do it again. it was on the OH turnpike at 3 am. i was coming home cause my GF at the time had dumped me. so i was kinda in a crazy state of mind ya know. .

I was doing 148 on a open highway in my 92 SE 5spd. She felt like she still had a little more in there though, but that was good enough for me.

on my GXE, I've been clocked by police at 143.

on my SE, I've been well over 150, but to what extent, I don't know. I was at 6500RPM on the tach. slightly downhill, but I still did it.
I max out around 6300rpm on flat ground.
And yes, I do it almost weekly. I hit 120+ every day. Usually cruise 95-100 on the highway. Thank goodness there's open roads and not many cops in OK!

I GOT ONE

Here is my most recent go-fast encounter. Two chicks in a hooked up jetta(tint, body kit, rims, dropped, ricey exhaust) pull out in front of me and start revving the engine. So I rev mine (89 SE) with all it's leaky y--pipe glory..They laugh hysterically then "Wanna race?" These chicks are cool, so I follow them out to the nearest highway and away we go. I even gave them a head start, let them get a carlength ahead then romp on it. PEACE.. I dusted them, buried the speedo past 125 (floaty scary stuff!) Then drop back to 110 so they could catch up, then I played with them surging ahead as soon as they got next to me. Got off the highway then at a light I go "Weren't you laughing before?" It was classic! They could not believe I was stock.

I might even make a video or two of a run for you VG guys, just so you can see what it's like to go that fast in a Maxima.

Dang there's some fast speeds?

Matt93se I have to ask if the cop was laughing his head off or really mad when he/she busted you at such a high speed? If anything must have been amazed that the car could get things going up there.

Anyway the most I have done is 105 on highway 505 in California. Nothing fancy to a lot of guys but it was in broad daylight on a major highway if that counts for anything. Course there was no one around including cops.

The car felt real good at the speed. It almost seemed to get smoother then it was around 80. Unlike my last vehicle a 1972 Ranchero with a 351 Cleveland plus headers. That thing could get things moving in a hurry but would start to shake like crazy around 80 or so. Must of had something to do with the shot suspension I was almost in tears the day I had to sell that beast. Something about Old School V8 American Power.

fortunately, the cop was a friend of the family, so he just gave me a loong lecture about speeding, then went back to his amazement that the car could go that fast.

I'll be surprising everyone soon enough when I build a monster VG motor! See, I just got a great job with which I could easily lease a fairly nice new car ( Celica GTS, WRX or something like this) But I LOVE my 3rd GEN MAXIMA. And I LOVE SLEEPERS. So.. I see ti this way. Why buy or lease a new car when I can put that money into my Maxima and make it a one-of-akind. I've been collecting info from various sources and the way things look, I'll be pushing into uncharted VG territory. Not to say that no one has gone full-bore on a vg max, but I have yet to see one run 12's. This is my goal. Having simple SOHC heads allow me to stretch the funds a little futher. Want to see some inspiration? Check www.Paeco.com. If you want it, they can make it.

yeah...right

let's be real. 105 isn't all that much, buddy. and a fiberglass or urethane kit isn't going to do jack for performance/handling, it's a cosmetic enhancement only.

You won't be pushing anything. Its called traction. 350 wheel hp + 3200 lbs = no traction in a fwd car. Have fun

Go take a piece of plywood, cut it to the contour of your bumper but extended 3-4" all around and screw it on. Hit the highways and push 110. I assure you you'll see a difference..
