Iridium Spark Plugs?

Hello

I am running NGK-R spark plugs in my 1993 Maxima. Is there any advantage or disadvantage to dropping in Iridium plugs? Are Iridium plugs, a resistor plug? What do you all think of Denso plugs?

Thanks
Russ

He has a VE

The VE is very picky about plugs and really doesn't like non-OEM spec plugs. Although several members here over the years use NGK copper plugs without issue. They're cheaper, but of course then you just have to replace those more often.

VE - DOHC. I called a local Nissan shop, and they suggested going with NGK PFR5C 11 plugs, which is what is in it now. They are platinum plugs. I should probably stick with them. I don't mind changing plugs once in awhile. What do you think? NGK also makes an equivalent in Iridium.

Thanks
Russ

If you already have the PFR5C11 (which I'm pretty sure are the exact factory plugs), why are you looking to change them? I'd say leave them be.

I want to say the factory platinum plugs have something like an 80k mile service life. Are you due for new plugs? You can still get the PFR5C11's on eBay

I don't know how long these plugs have been in the car, previous to me acquiring it. I just figured it cant hurt to slap some new ones in.

Thanks
