Need help with transmission codes

Well since the search function has gone crazy on here I’ll just ask and hope for best results. 93 GXE auto. Tranny has been doing it for quite some time but it will go into limp mode (3rd gear only)when started up about 40% off the time. Shut it off and start back up and it will usually be just fine. Got around to fixing power comfort switch( kind of, need new now) but finally got codes from transmission. First of all, the power light blinks 16 times when turning car on. Can’t find anything on that issue. When I get it into diagnostic mode 4, 5, and 6 all have the slow blink. Which are shift solenoid valve a circuit, shift solenoid valve b circuit, and timing solenoid valve circuit. Is this fixable? Is the tranny junk? Is it just an electrical issue since it will work fine sometimes? Is the timing solenoid in the motor? Just hoping someone can point in the right direction(s) on where to go now. I’ve been up and down searching on google but all I can ever find is for 4th gens. I already pulled Ecu codes and they were 13 and 22. Cleared and drove and didn’t come back. No idea how long they had been in there. Never had a check engine light on since owning 12 years. Timing belt done last year but the issue was before and continues. Had new torque converter put in about 10 years ago.

assuming this is an auto VG30E GXE, its likely the trans but check the fluid level before anything. they notoriously fail since the VG auto trans are actually meant for 4 cylinder engines, with the torque VG30 put out they usually crap out before 200,000km. whats the mileage on it?

So what I’ve figured out so far is that when I turn on the key if the p button lights up and then starts flashing it will shift normal. If I turn it on and p doesn’t light up it’s in limp mode. Any ideas? Also, anyone have a power/comfort switch laying around?

Run the self diagnostic and see what the results are.

Automatic Transmission Self-Test for 3rd gen Maxima

1 - Start engine and warm it up to normal engine operating temperature.
2 - Turn ignition switch to "OFF" position.
3 - Set A/T mode switch to "Auto" position.
4 - Set overdrive switch to "ON" position.
5 - Move selector lever to "P" position.
6 - Turn ignition to "ON" position. (Do not start engine.)
7 - Does power indicator lamp come on for about 2 seconds?

If no 2 second light, check A/T control unit.

If power indicator lamp comes on for 2 seconds, continue with procedure.

1 - Move selector lever to "D" position while depressing brake pedal.
2 - Turn ignition switch to "OFF" position.
3 - Set overdrive switch to "OFF" position.
4 - Turn ignition switch "ON" (Do not start engine) and wait at least 2 seconds.
5 - Move selector lever to "2" position.
6 - Set overdrive switch to "ON" position.
7 - Move selector lever to "1" position.
8 - Set overdrive switch to "OFF" position.
9 - Depress accelerator pedal fully and release it.
10 - Check power indicator lamp for flashing pattern.

The light will do a series of 10 flashes, watch for a flash that is longer than the others.

No flashes - Inhibitor switch, overdrive switch or throttle position switch is disconnected or the A/T control unit is damaged.

All flashes the same - self diagnostics ran OK.

Flash 1 longer - Revolution sensor circuit shorted or disabled.
Flash 2 longer - Vehicle speed sensor circuit shorted or disabled.
Flash 3 longer - Throttle position sensor circuit shorted or disabled.
Flash 4 longer - Shift solenoid valve "A" circuit shorted or disabled.
Flash 5 longer - Shift solenoid valve "B" circuit shorted or disabled.
Flash 6 longer - Overrun clutch solenoid valve circuit shorted or disabled.
Flash 7 longer - Torque converter clutch solenoid circuit shorted or disabled.
Flash 8 longer - Fluid temperature sensor is disconnected or A/T control unit power source circuit is damaged.
Flash 9 longer - Engine speed signal circuit shorted or disabled.
Flash 10 longer - Line pressure solenoid valve circuit shorted or disabled.

Lol.. I could have sold you one cheap. I sold a bunch of my old parts but also had to send some to the dump and a couple ecu's and tcu's were amongst those parts. Go figure now people need the parts after I sat on them for so long then had to dump what was left. Murpheys law I guess lol. Glad to hear you got your issue resolved.
