it's official, my max is for sale!

yup, i'm giving up on the maxima. it's a sweet car, but i think i want something a little flashier. i found an 88 mazda RX-7 convertible in porsche yellow. lots of mods, good price. anyway, i'm hoping to get around 5 for my max. i'd honestly probably accedpt 4500. ok here's the scoop

92 nissan maxima SE
128k miles
VE30DE
VSC LSD
Short shifter
stock spoiler
OE sunroof deflector
Black on black leather
dual power seats
white gauges
maxima floor mats
heated mirrors
(basically all SE stuff)
Mods:
ASP racing Underdrive pulley
Suspension Techniques 1.5" lowering springs
Suspension Techniques front and rear sway bars
courtesy front strut tower bar
Pop charger
PCV breather
Custom tuneable dual exhaust:
2.5" y pipe, 2.5" flex, to a 3" high flow cat to 3" pipe to the end of the tunnel, then it splits to the dual exhaust which are tuneable canister style mufflers. i'll include both silencers
Piaa headlights
washer lights (i needed some rice!)
Razo pedals
Clarion pro audio flip face CD player
Sony Xplode 6.5" 3 way 200W speakers in front
sony Xplode 6x9" 3 way 200W speakers in rear
2 Pro audio 12" subs in a band pass
Pyramid 500W amp in back
phenix gold RCA's
nice fog lights

maintanence:
always mobile 10-30 sythetic (have recipts)
new clutch (8k miles on it)
new belts (around 5k on them, replaced with udp)
New VTC's (i think)

misc:
SE rims are really beat. and the tires are skinny but the car is slammed with the 50 series tires. i have a guy that can do 17" 7spoke rims and tires for 680 if anyone's interested. he's got lots of styles and stuff. when i bought the car the guy said he had 1500 dollars of "valve work" done. i think he meant the VTC's. he was an older guy, never beat on the car. i raced it once at SCCA and took 2nd in my class! took it to drag strip 3 times. so it's not like it's a track car. i'll include the stereo, it's not gonna fit in the RX anyway :) it's got new window regulators in 3 of the windows. the paint needs a little tlc. it's got some scratches and 2 tiny rust spots behind the rear door. it sat in a college parking lot for 2 years. what do you expect! most of the miles are highway (i know everyone says that) but i mostly used this car to commute to pittsburgh and back. it could use a set of shocks. the ones on it aren't leaking or anything, just wearing out. but all in all it's a nice car. anyway, let me know if anyones' interested. i'm from pittsburgh PA, and i go to college in Bowling green Ohio. email: flyry110@hotmail.com aim: flyry110

In what condition is the rotary motor? Hmm 88' huh, that means 12a? Turbo??

Whatever you do, keep about a grand for unexpected seal failure if that is a turbo version. If it's the na version, please change the oil regularly and watch the oil level.

flyry110 Feb 8, 2002 11:12 AM

it's NA, but not for long :) it's a good price as well. . . oh BTW, i'm NOT parting out my max. i don't feel like trying to sell all my mods. . . .

Matt93SE Feb 8, 2002 11:33 AM

A bit of advice.. if you want to consider selling that car on any of these forums

1. please post in the Maximas for sale forum, not here.. I'm not going to whine much, as that's all anyone thinks we've done lately as moderators, and this is close enough to a relevant post..

2. remove the "Look how I treat my car at stoplights!" pic from your sig file.

:)

Putting in a factory Turbo engine = good idea if it's been rebuilt.

Turboing the factory na engine = bad news.

Matt: I thought he would have the common sense to take the sig pic out. hehe

flyry110 Feb 8, 2002 11:46 AM

STRUT BAR!

can i get that?

Bman Feb 8, 2002 01:14 PM

Wow, now that is a fully modded car! And a sweet colour too....

I'm sure someone out there would like a "turn-key" car :)

....are you sure about this Ryan? I'm salivating just looking at your sig pic!

Have you driven a 2nd gen RX-7

They are much slower than a stock Maxima never mind your Maxima.I have driven both stick's and auto's. Be prepeared to replace the conv. top pretty soon OR rain water will get into area where the ECU is and fry it.I'm not tring to dog Rx-7's but I want you to know what your getting into, atleast do a hours worth of research on them(web).

good luck
Jason

Cool man... glad to hear you are joining the RX-7 guys. Becareful on the rx7forums though.. cause there are a lot of people on there that really don't have a clue. These engines are easy to blow up if not modified properly. (In turbo form)

Yep, and always perform a proper warm up when cold. Very important to any rotors reliability.

flyry110 Feb 8, 2002 07:45 PM

hehehe yeah, if i don't get around 5 for my car, then i'll boost, but someone HAS to want this car! come on, someone help me. . . .

flyry110 Feb 9, 2002 07:40 AM

No... 12a was 79-85 only. In the USA the only engine option for the convertable was the N/A 13b. In 1988 it put out 146hp, and 89-91 put out 160hp.
