Originally posted by eiss4 they didnt, but then i replaced the fuse for it and now they work but the panels still dont light up. did i fry a wire or sumthing? if there was a short in a dash wire or a tail wire that fuse would blow.... -to get some on to fix it its going to cost a ot of money becuae there going to spend like 2 hours trying to find the fuse.... labor charges suck... -i have a short in my shifter somewere .. it blows out the dash/taillight fuse almost once a month... i just hold a lot of 10 Amp fuses ..lol |

hey man..same thing is going on with me.
I was installing a new cd player..i ended up crossing my illumination wire with some other wire..that knocked out the tail lamp fuse..i replaced the fuse and the the parking lights and stuff work fine..but my instrument lights still won't light up. If it's a relay prob then i have extra ones..but i'd like to pin point the problem. if you find the solution please let me know..ill be very happy to solve this mystery. thanks |

Get the blue Chilton book (Maxima 85-92), then study page 6-135 or 6-136 ("Interior illumination lights wiring schematic...").
P.S. There is no relay. It's just battery - fuse - switch - lights - ground. Actually, that's not quite right - there is the dimmer circuitry. |
