Why won't it work?
I bought a brand new PR CAI. It comes with a monster Air filter. Now my problem is that the monster air filter won't bolt to the MAF. I'm going to need to dry mount this air intake, as it's going to start raining in a couple months for the spring. Do I need to buy a K&N filter? Please help

Rain will not be a problem. The only way to hydrolock the engine is to submerge the air filter under water. Usually 95% of the time common sense will stop you from doing this. I however didn't remove my CAI tube when houston got flood by Alicia so my engine got hydrolocked. But its not like I didn't see all that water, I just forgot I had a CAI :bonk:.

don't worry about it.
I drove for over 2 months with no fender liner on the inside of my wheel well- through HEAVY rainstorms and puddles and everything. 4-5" of water and I zoomed right through it. the only way to hydrolock your engine is to drive through AT LEAST a foot of water. by that time, I'd hope you're smart enough not to drive through it CAI or not. |

Please help Chris You have a pipe from tb to maf. then adaptor on maf, then more piping, and finally filter on the end. Remove the 2nd pipe that leads to the fender. However, leave the adaptor there. Then take the filter and put it on the adaptor. That should do it. btw, what's a monster air filter? i thought pr only uses k&n? Jay |
Supposedly this monster Air filter increases air flow to the engine, it's pretty big, definitly bigger than the K&N Filter. The only thing is that it's a little hard to fit in the wheel well. I'll send a pic soon. You can get them through custommaxima.com
