can anyone recommend a good ss muffler?

I am looking for a cheap, but nice sounding stainless steel muffler. I don't want a fart pipe... just something to be a little louder and have a good growl to it. However, I am on a limited budget, and need this done pretty soon. Thanks in advance, Stevo

Re: can anyone recommend a good ss muffler?

Edelbrock SS series. Get the 2.5" inlet/outlet long can version(it's like 22" long, just a tad shorter than the stock one). It's extremely high quality...thick stainless steel with long-lasting ceramic core. Straight thru. I had one years ago and it was probably the quietest straight through muffler I've ever heard. That having been said, it was still louder than stock. If you cruise lightly, it wasn't much louder, but there was a resonance between 2200-3000 rpm (booming noise) that was a little too much for my taste. To put it into perspective, though, my custom b-pipe with this muffler was still quieter than the GReddy cat-back.

It's a great quality muffler...much better than even Borla, which is quite good...and only cost ~$100. A little loud for me, but if you can take some noise, it's a good choice.

thanks

I apprecciate all of the recommendations. Thanks a lot. I will probably go with the edelbrock, since I am on a tight budget and need the muffler pretty soon (my stock one is rusting through).
