I would like to see a Turbo Maxima's Timeslips
Hey,
I just wanted to get more info on the custom turbo kits there making for our car, from people that really know.. About a year ago people were saying go nitrous over SuperC , nitrous has a lot more potential...now, as of now to a lot of people turbo knocks them both out of the water... Ive seen dynos of TurboMax at like 350 HP at 6 psi , that's awesome... But does anyone know when were going to see time slips, from a turbo Maxima? Thanks ChRi§ |
id really like to see these time slips as well....really wanna see this

I would like to see some slips of it at 11.5 psi mmm, also what happened to that loser who said he was doing a silvia turbo convertion or somethin? I dont think he ever replied to that post after everyone knocked it, but kept hanging around hehe.
|
Originally posted by MaxSpeedSE Yeah, its kwl that as the days go by so many new things are coming out for our cars, turbo, cams, but you would think if turbo kits were all that for the maxima, more people would have them? I would really love to see some numbers soon.... I hope -ChRi§ |

I got my clutch and flywheel in three weeks ago. I just installed my super AFC too so as soon as I get tuned I'll be at the track! I had some problems along the way. I just solved my super AFC problem. :) ... oh I need to get an NHRA approved battery tie down and cut off switch :( to be legal at the track ... sucks!
|
yes sir, you need to go and soon for us followers :) .....if i only lived in Colorado, id be your #1 fan :D.....i really wanna see those timeslips soon....how much boost do you plan on running when you finally go to the track?
|
damn, i live in CO and i have only seen maybe 2 modded max's ever, let alone a turbo max :D

Originally posted by MaxSpeedSE Why dont you go to the track on the night when its open to the public..on street legal night, they never check anything... oh yeah you think when you run at the track you can try diffrent boost settings, so we can aslo see the diffrence of what u run at 4 6 9 11 psi... good luck to ya , i soo cant wait to see times! |
Originally posted by turbo97SE what night is street legal night? I'll go then. ;) but im very much looking foward to see some times :D |
outa curiosity turbo97se , did you look into standalone EMS at all for the maxima?
im curious because in the honda camp standalone is highly preferred for boost.. better for tuning & reliability compared to piggyback systems..... also, i'm assuming you had a custom manifold made? |
Id like to see some timeslips so I can compare them to mine as soon as the car is running with the DET. BTW I finally got it running just need to work out all the bugs.

HEY TILLEY?
Is that a 2k2 max motor in your sig picture? Is it installed and if it is how much of a difference has it made man?
|
its a VQ30DET from the JDM Y33 Cima (Q45) I couldnt tell you how much of a difference it made cause I havent had it running but for a couple minutes in my garage.

can maximas go in 10's?
|
Buy in on a stand-alone for a maxima is over $1,000. Installation plus tuning would be another $500 at least. Not cheap to say the least.
Plus he's probably fairly clost to the limits of the stock bottom end anyway. (never seen specs on it) if it's lower than ours, which most turbo nissans are built for hella boost, then that just makes my mouth water even more. -ChRi§ |
Originally posted by iregula can maximas go in 10's? peformance wise its all there...now with turbo, and cams and everythin coming out day by day, traction is whats going to have to be worked around |
maxima wont get into 10's unless its 100% stripped to the bare metal chassis...
and even then it will be difficult there are VERY FEW daily driven street legal civics that are in the 10's.. and even then they have major weight reduction done. |
Biggest difference is the intake manifold has no runners, and the pistons are 8.5.1 compression = more boost... :D
Congrats Tilley.
