no. moving it up and down changes the windshield wipers, asswipe

pushing it up and down is for making quick changes in the speed of the wipers kinda like "slow, fast, very fast" or something like that.

the knob actually has the same function except it has more "levels of speed" for the wipers.

geo1317 Jul 23, 2002 11:39 PM

its called the variable intermittent wiper control, it controls the timing on the wipers when set to the intermittent setting, some max's just have the intermittent wipers

blizz20oma Jul 24, 2002 07:03 AM

I wouldn't knock the guy. My two prior cars to the max didn't have intermittent wipers (my integra actually had a grand total of 2 speeds). But I knew what intermittent wipers were on other cars. Some people might not though.

My thoughts EXACTLY. Give the guy a break...

when u push the stalk down 1 level, the thing u're asking about allows u to control the speed of the wipers, jus turn the knob...but if u push the stalk to other levels then the knob wont control the speed any more.

turn the knob while the wipers r on level 1.

correct me if i'm wrong guys.

Albertt Jul 24, 2002 10:23 AM

Yep, that about sums it up >>

91 LS (sig URL has pics). It had 3 diff lever positions, but the speeds were slow, fast, and the-same-fast-as-the-other-fast (probably fixable, but...) :)

You use those roof racks often? If not, loose them, I know some people keep them on there for show. Nice car I like the red interior
