ben's ECU mod queston, Radio Shack switch

all right for all of you who have done it, I cut the pink wire with a blue stripe and am trying to hook up a Iluminated Rocker switch(SPST 30A @ 12vdc)from Radio Shack as recommended by the org. My ? IS HOW DO I HOOK UP THE SWITCH??? this is my first time to work with wire connections and I dont know what is what between the ground, load, and power ends of the swich. Please help:confused: Thanks

hmmm i think you ground the ground wire out that for the light in the switch hook up the pink wire that goes from the ecu out to the constant power.

and hook up the other side of the wire to the switched power on the switch.

i am pretty sure thats how it goes

so the ground is for the light, the load prong should be connected to the wire coming off the ecu and the other end of the pink and blue wire should be connected to the power prong??? so how dose the light come on?? sorry I am new at this.

sure no problem

so ground is ground

ecu out will go to your power

line to the tach will go to the switch power or acc. which should be labeled on the switch.

it sould work either way. cause you basically just turning on or turning of the connections between the wires.

but your light is always gonna be on because you have to leave the switch on to have the speed limiter right?? and turn it of to disingage the speed limiter. if im correct that was the bens ecu mod.

just tested it out got up to 120 and...crap the limiters still working
and yes you guest it, after running a diagnostic I got 0402 (fule tank temp fault code) not 0104(Vehicle speed sensor fault code). damn cut the wrong pink wire with a blue stripe:mad: I now see 3 pinks with a blue stripe, I cut the one above the screw next to 2 whites and a black wire, damn, there is another one right above and touching the screw is that the one???????????? damn

He is getting rid of his top speed governor.

^so he can go ridiculously dangerous speeds to make himself feel nice.

by doing this mod, will the engine light always stay on? I think that for normal driving, you switch it on so there won't be a CEL, but for crazy racing, there will be cuz the switch is off.. am i correct?
