What would it take to get a 95-96 max SE in the mid 14's?
I think they run 15.2's stock maybe lower but could you get it to run like 14.5's with an intake, Y pipe, Cat back exhaust? or does it take more complicated mods?

It depends, Auto or 5-speed....
Most definitely, if you are a 5-speed, you will need an aftermarket clutch, intake, y-pipe, etc. to MAYBE get NEAR those times. Those numbers are almost impossible to reach in an auto unless you are running N20 or boost. Some of the other peeps can elaborate more on this for you..... |
clutch != speed

A supercharger. :D

O damn i forgot to mention yeah it would be a 5 speed. I know that low 15's are a huge feat for a N/A auto.

holding power is irrelevant to speed, all it will do is resist slipping under higher power and engage quicker (this MAY increase speed, but negligable)

Originally posted by nismo240sx if youre adding considerable power, it is a necessity to have that holding power, as it can really cause you to be slower. eric |

Because he has been own3d by not searching. Sometimes the simpliest task is often made hard.

You will need at least a y-pipe, good weather conditions and a great driver, but you'll probably need more.
Intake, exhaust, UDP, and weight reduction would make the task easier. Oh yeah and check you the 1/4 mile forum to see what people run with what mods. |

i remember seeing a video of an Si against a max...and it says in the beginning, 15.2 civic si, intake bla bla bla bla....then it said 14.5 second Maxima SE 5spd Intake, Y pipe, Cat, Exhaust, and ECU....maybe thats all you need?

all u need is an intake, y-pipe, and good luck with 5 speed....u can run at best mid 14's but everything has to be just about perfect for u, weather and all.
|
Umm... that was Brian (BrianV). He has more mods than you could fit on that screen... In the video the maxima that runs the SI is black |

Those numbers are almost impossible to reach in an auto unless you are running N20 or boost. i ran a 15.4 with a obx intake and upper pipe with my ghetto street tires on stock 15"s on the front. i'm an auto. 14.5 is hard but not impossible. Don ran a 14.2 with every bolt on i can think of, VLSD, and drags or slicks. |
