question about auto shifter... and oh... i've searched...
Hi! Wonder if anyone could share to this poor soul some input regarding auto shifter. I've been noticing that it would take a little force to get the shifter to Reverse from Park position and it gives out a loud thud when it breaks free from Park. It sounds as if the shifter is breaking off from its connections to whatever down there. BTW, I have a 95SE. Appreciate the help.
Thanks guys! |

I think it happens when some of the weight of the car, is puttin pressure on the gears in the transmission. Im not entirely sure, but i think it has to do with something like that.... |

Originally posted by kushane Yep. When you stop, Just pull your parking Brake before shifting to park. That way the car won't roll that tiny bit and put pressure on the tranny. |

my '95 max does the same thing, but only if i park on a steep hill, driveway etc... use the parking brake and it should be fine.
