I'm off and running again...(long)

Well, a week or so ago, I wrote a post about how after installing my y-pipe, my car had been sputerring, hesitating and having problems starting. I had Nightrider come by two days ago to run the ecu codes off of my car and he noticed that the code read that the crankshaft position sensor was malfunctioning. So Nightrider offers to look up the location of the part and what it does and lets me know that he'll call me up once he gets home. Nightrider calls and he gives me the low down on what i was looking at. Nightrider said that he would help out that he would bring Papasmurf with him, because he had the tools. These guys get over here the next night around 10:45. They jack the car up work on my baby for about 15 to 20 minutes. They pull out the bad sensor, show it to me and put the new one in. They replaced the other one as well to be on the safe side. Now i know if I went to Nissan they would have charged me over $500 easy just for the work they did. They came in the clutch. All i could really do since my money was low was to at least offer these guys dinner. They wanted nothing in return except to see that my car was working right. I test drove it with Nightrider for a little bit to make everything was ok, and one day later after about 100 miles of traveling, the car feels great. More power, more power, more power.... :D :D
This forum is great, and i hope that people start using it to exchange info instead of a battling ground for immature bragging rights or flamming on people. Just had to add my .02.:D

Agreed 10000%. Without it, I wouldn't be aware or have limited if not zero access to any aftermarket parts for the max, not to mention precious tips and advice from my fellow members!

THE ORG IS WHERE ITS AT!! :D :D

This board does kick ***... without I may have just paid the $249 that autozone wants for a knock sensor.

good stuff man!!

BTW, did the A-Team stop by with Different Strokes and Webster? What about Megatron and Fat Albert?? ;)

This board is definitely on point. There are a few anal members on here, and i do mean a few. But other than that, i would have to say over 98% of the members on here show a genuine concern to the needs of other max members on here who really need the help. The other 1-2% seem to be more concerned about outdoing the next member. But oh well, there's always a few bad apples.

Hey Kwamdoo,

It's good to hear you got your Y. I have to check it out sometime. Missed you at the last meet. Keep having fun with the mod bug...I know that I am.

I got the warpspeed y..... On that same note, the y had nothing at all to do with my crankshaft position sensor. I've put on another 80 miles today and all that has been said about the performance improvements from putting on this mod is absolutely true. The car has more low end and has more pwer throughout the entire power band. I really have to catch my car because of how fast it picks up speed when i go wot. I don't think the ecu has gotten used to the y yet, but when it does...damn:D :D !!!! I would recomend this mod for anyone who wants more punch out of their max. The MEVI, is on my Christmas list, so i guess you can say the mod bug has bitten this max owner pretty hard. I still haven't done anything cosmetically yet, but i have some rims that i will be putting on in the very near future.

nice to hear fellow maxima enthusiasts have our backs. At first i wasnt really into the maxima cuz i really wanted a sentra se r spec V but with a few upgrades it could handle like a spec V and much more , and fits 5 full size adults comfortably.

This post is what the BBS represents. Well, used to represent. Glad to see there are some good guys left here. I've been on all the Maxima BBS since day one and was getting discouraged that the once useful discussions about maintenance and performance deteriorated to "I love my HID blue bulbs and check out my awesome cut springs." It was great to read how members are helping each other out!

couldn't agree more. not only is it a plethora of information (if you take the time to find it) it's a great place to find like-minded people. i've been to a few meets before and even though it may well be that you have never met these people before you feel like you've known them for ages. it transcends race, personality, ideals and many other things and brings out the best in people. which is why I can't stand it when someone comes on here to hock their crap (non-maxima people), when someone is here just to rip people off or when someone's car gets vandalized. how dare they taint this great place with their sh!t.

granted, there is a fair ammount of bullsh!t on this forum, like any other; but i always have been and always will be proud to be a member.

thanks everyone.
