Should I get 18x8's ??
There Delio's rims that I will be getting from him but I dont know if I want the added weight...there 25lbs without tires witch is pretty normal for 18's...What will the weight difference be from my 01' 17's to these 25lb 18inch rims ??
Do I want 18s', are they gonna ride all rouf and stuff ?? I think they will make the car sit nice with the 18x8's and the sprints :) give me some feedback -Matt heres a link to check them out http://www.smooth-effects.com/Members/Delio/Delio.htm I think there pretty damn hot |
those are nice rims. what kind are they?
|
18x8 MAS MGR's
I really like them alot...I think the added weight from my heavy a** stock 17's, and these 18's there wont even be that much of a difference, plus these will strickly be my summer wheels :) -Matt |
you don't want those heavy POS's
|
What do you mean ??
-matt |
yes they will ride harder..
yes they will make your car slower.. yes they will look better.. |
I think they're nice looking rims. I say go for it! Unfortuantely, they're more for looks than performance, so if you rather go fast, then maybe these wheels aren't for you.

Yea well how slower ?? How much heavier can they be matched up with my 17" OEM rims now...there heavy as hel*

-matt Ive been trying to find out how heavy the 01' are since I got them and there are no reliable sources on how heavy they are...im gonna take em off tomorrow and weight them |

my question is, when are you getting them?
how much are you paying? does delio know you are getting his rims.. http://forums.off-topic.net/images/smilies/slap.gif |
Originally posted by dashingMax [B] Not really! The handling from an 18" (assuming good tires) is much much better compared to a 17" with the same tire. [B] I did exactly that & believe me. My 18" Enkei can outhandle my lightweight 17" Kosei's all day! ...my 0.02 cents :) handling, you mean when you take a corner? well, handling is different because of unsprung weight, meaning the suspension is working differently with 18" rims then 17" rims, with 18" rims and low profile tires, yes, your cornering might be better, but the accelleration, braking, gas mileage WILL GO DOWN. there is no question about that when you say outhandle, what do u mean by that, I'll get 17" can accelerate faster |
Originally posted by Vinipux when you say outhandle, what do u mean by that, I'll get 17" can accelerate faster Lose a little acceleration - yes Braking - well, theoretically yes, but for 99% driving, braking will work just fine. Gas Mileage - hardly noticeable. I did not see much (if any) change between stock 16's versus 18's. |
I have to decide if im gonna go throgh with this deal..my rims/tires and some money for delio's rims
