How much do you fork out for mods?

Im just curious to know how much money everyone spends on mods...

Do you think spending $10k on a $10k car is too much? Personally I dont think so, but few people say thats a waste of money...

From all the awesome mods out, I would love to have my car full of them, I jsut want to know if there is a border line on too much?

Thanks in Advance!

I think MOST people would say that's a waste of money. So far I've spent about $5500 in mods on my car over the almost 2 years I've had it. I am almost done with it, at least thats what I keep telling myself and my girlfriend. She's into modding too though so she doesn't mind TOO much

So far I have spent around 1,300$ and my car still doesn't have many mods.. I need to get my body kit painted, install the exhaust, intake, stereo.. then i'm going to lower it, get some nice 17" wheels, get the rest of the bolt ons eventually, leather seats and that's it..

so I think I'll settle in under 3 grand.... hopefully.

I usually try to find deals. I got my Eibach/tokico suspension used. Try to do installs my self and what not. ie; red/clear tails.
I have spent around $1700 on everything. Rims, tires, tint, suspension, intake. I am about to drop $500 on exhaust. So make that around $2200. After my exhaust, I'll do an ECU upgrade and VI and I will be done.

Wow I had not thought I spent that much! It is all worth it.

wow. that is a pretty hostile statement! i read in your profile that you had a turbo and a supercharger. is that sarcasm i hear, or not?? anyway, if someone wants to spend $XXXX.XX or more, let them. i won't spend more than about 2-3K. that's just me, and i don't expect anyone to see from the same point of view that i do.

Ok, well 10k can easily be spent, EASILY...

the 10k im thinking about is:

1) Audio- LCD screen diplay, 10" subs <--- 2k
2) Body kit and new paint job <---- 3k
3) Intake, Exhaust <------ 1k
4) Interior Dash kit, leather <---- 1.5k
5) Rims/tires <----- 1.5k
6) Installation <--- atleast 1k

so, as you can see, its easily spent... It just depends on what you want... As for me, I want an all around car, meaning Custom interior, exterior, and engine.

btw, I might get the rims/tires later and get one of those Ride on Air kits, looks sweet and must be fun to drive with.

So bash all you want, everyone is different, Ive seen $20k cars modded upto 100k... its all on how nice you want the car to look.
And of course, how YOU like the interior, you have to have a car that you like, not other people... duh.

I AM a fool for spending that much money on a car! But then, I also have kart, r/c cars, bikes, diecast collection.....
I spent $1600 in the last month which isn't a whole lot. I'm sure most of us sell old stuff to get new stuff!

On top of that, I'm still making monthly car payments!

I'm only at about 2 grand I think...I don't think it's dumb to mod the max(I know the previous guys were joking). If I didn't I'd have to spend over 30 grand to get a better 4 door car with the handling/acceleration/comfort/reliablility of my '97. Hey - modding is saving me money!

i see where you're going with this, but i must say that the cheapest bmw is a piece of crap. the inexpensive ones suck, and the expensive ones are not affordable. well, unless you're talking about used, then that is more reasonable, but otherwise, not.
