Has NE1 replaced their own exhaust on their 4th gen? I mean, do your own work. I just called Meineke and they told me it would be $80 bucks. There is no way I would pay more than $40 for 2 bolts and a gasket. (I know I'm cheap)

I'll take a look at my Tech manual tonite and probably do the work first thing on Saturday. Will let you guys know how it goes.

Tips, hints or, warnings apreciated.

i did 3 different exhaust systems already..(diff cars)
what to keep in mind..
good set of sockets and box wrenches are a must. once u strip one..it's all over. pain in the *** to do after that since you'll have a hard time getting that bolt/nut off.
liquid wrench or equiv will help u there.
make sure you have all the gaskets. not a good idea to reuse old ones. mentally picture the whole exhaust deal in your head and make sure you have the gaskets that go with them.
work gloves..the bolts are tight and the second it breaks free your hand will slap into something..so wear heavy gloves to protect you.
good jack is also a good idea. you might have to twist and turn to get it out...but keep in mind that the car is a lot lower than you see at the shop..so a good jack that have a good lift range is a must, use jack stands!!!
breaker bar..or a long pipe to give u more levage will help.
if the bolts are really rusted then it'll be a pain to get the old one out...but if they are fairly in good shape you then it'll be a ok job..not too bad.
good luck
Dan

DanNY has got it right. The Stillen catback went real smooth on my 95SE, appx. 1.5 hrs total. I had low miles so no rusted bolts. Thats the unknown, corroded hardware, stripped bolts etc.

I had a slight routing problem where the B pipe crosses over the rear axle area where on bumps the pipe would contact the underbody. Also the exhaust tip wasn't perfectly centered in the bumper cutout. I had to shift around and slightly bend things to cure these two items.

I just remembered one other thing! They didn't send me the attach bolts for the B pipe to muffler flange. Nissans' OEM setup had nuts going onto welded-on studs on my system, so I had to scrounge some hardware for that.
