I used to hate foreign cars and then I met this girl and she drove a 96 SE and I loved it. I think women who are in their late 20's-early 30s like the car, but a younger girl, no. Girls like small stuff because it's cute, if their was a two door sports coupe maxima; I'm sure you'd see a lot more younger girls driving them. I don't think they don't like it because of the power, infact that's why my g/f did like it, I think it's because it's kind of a bigger car, not little and cute like an eclipse.


Just a side note; maybe it's just where I live, but have you noticed an excessive amount of females, younger and older; driving mustangs. I swear, anytime I see a a mid-late 90s mustang it's like 9 out of 10 times it's a girl behind the wheel. Not bad or anything, but just kind of surprising.

actually, i sorta like it that way. one reason i don't like the jetta is that it's a "chick car"

of course, if you ever see a jetta, it's almost always worth it to look at its driver :)

They are just spoiled and have Daddy buy them a cute little I-4 or V6 Mustang which is garbage. They want to look like their hot **** driving around nothing. Oh well, as long as they still think i'm cool in my Max and they still keep coming i'll be happy driving them when their's more than .001 inches of snow on the ground.

I think it's the other way around. Those v6 and I-4 Mustangs don't hold value at all. At least you can drive a Civic for a few years and still get some bill$ for it.

You got it wrong, chicks drive Mustangs and Preludes. Those are the quintessential chick cars. If "Muffy's" dad is rich she will think she is driving a beemer. I have not once come across a girl who drove a beemer, they just aren't into motorcycles. Bimmers on the other hand are very popular with women.

My girl just got a '96 SE with 17" Koenig Monsoons, H&R's, clear front corners, and clear tails. her car before this one was a Ford Probe SE. Glad she came to her senses. :)

Exceptions
 

Of course there is going to be exceptions to the original comment, but I think overall the maxima is a male driven car. From the girls I've asked the Maxima is ok ( body design 4th gen black ). Everyone of course loves the inside with all the gadgets and such, but I think that if a female is going to spend 15k-30k on a new or used car they aren't going to get a 'ok' looking car that is kinda big. A sporty curvy body design (like a mustang/eclipse) will probably be chosen. The Maxima doesn't really have any extreme eye turning design about it, that's what makes it anti-rice and why I like it.

(imo) To say females can't handle the V6 though, is inaccurate. Every girl that ever drove my car loved flooring it. Girls like to speed just as much as guys, they just aren't as dumb about it. I'm glad I'm not the only one who has seen a bunch of girls driving mustangs in the last year or so.

Slams women and seniors at the same time. Well FYI, I'm 55 and my wife is 50. We both have 2K Maximas. Hers is a GXE Auto and mine is an SE 5-speed. Neither of us have any trouble mashing our accelerator pedals to the floorboard. And we both do precisely that with some regularity.

My girlfriend drives an accord. She likes driving my car, and other faster cars ( her friends M3, her dad's LS, ... ) but she always says that she couldn't drive any of them as a daily driver.

She just doens't like driving a big car. An accord/altima size car is about as large of an car as she would ever like.

I happen to have a 99 Max (hubby has a 2K Max) and will floor it when needed. And as far as your note, there are at least five Maxima's in my neighborhood all driven by females. And, yes all of our cars are Appreciated. Stefnee

That's cool that the women in your neighborhood appreciate tha Max. And no, I wouldn't have as much of an appreciation for the Max if every 16 year old girl or guy drove one. The appeal of the Max is that it's a sleeper car...just waiting to blow the doors off of some aggresively styled piece of crap like the Tiburon or new Eclipse...even the new eclipse looks like a bloated Cougar. Anyway, I'm glad that the Max isn't a "Hey, look at me car." We wouldn't have that much enjoyment watching them in our rear view mirror!

Another thing about the sleeper look is that the Max has a slightly higher real-world speed limit than, say, a bright red Mustang. Although try using that as an excuse to the angry State Trooper...

- Dude, you have one hell of a wife! I can only hope that I'll find a girl who will at least ACCEPT my obsession with cars, let alone drive one like that! Does your wife do any of the work herself?

It's funny. Every time my wife stomps on the accelerator in her GXE, she giggles just like a little girl! I swear our cars help to keep us young.

One night I had 2 or 3 guys act like they were bowing to me when I cruised by. I love it when they gawk at my car. It's great. I don't feel that people realize how much of a luxury car it really is. (Although, H&R's take away a little bit of that luxury feeling!) Oh well, though. These cars are great!

She helps out quite a bit and loves to race. She street races every opportunity she can get. This is a shared passion which we enjoy doing. I just laugh at a lot of you guys who make fun of women in cars. I know some women are idiots but dont generalize all of them. You never know when one of those "hot chicks" will blow your doors and laugh. And that laugh will hurt. She has pissed off many a male driver by beating them, and as they try to make small talk(pick her up) she just points and laughs.

Props go out to y2kse. I wanna be exactly like you when I am 55. Burning those who think I need feelers to race.
