pls help - Brake light won't go off

When I got up yesterday it was 15 degrees out...
Got in the car, released hand brake but the red brake light on the dash wouldn't go off.

Drove 15 minutes to train station - never went off.
The rotors weren't too warm when I parked.
Didn't use the hand brake.

Came back that night, drove home with the light on the whole time. The rotor seemed a little warm...

This morning 13 degrees and the lights still on
the whole way.
Seems to be sucking gas a bit more than usual.
I don't hear any sqealing/brake noise
and when I lift off the gas it doesn't slow quickly.

I had a brake job done not too long ago and they
resurfaced the rotors.

Could the sensor some how be frozen?
Could the brakes be on a bit but not enough to make any noise?
How can I fix this?

Check your brake fluid. When the fluid is low, the light will illuminate.

Your brake fluid is low because your pads are worn down a bit. After you top off your fluid the light will go out, but make sure you have your brake pads checked. The system is designed so that as your pads ware, your fluid level drops to compensate. When it's low enough to turn on the idiot light, it usually means your pads are getting pretty low as well.
