FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY Fixed my car!!!
OK -- After 7 months of AWFUL driving, several potential diagnosis,
one CONSIDERABLY WRONG diagnosis by the dealer (torque convertor? puh-lease!), and about 14mpg for the last two months, I have finally solved my problem: One bad wire connection... I figured out it was some wire and had to go through EACH ONE until I found the bad wire. Turns out the wire is BLACK with SILVER marks on the side (not lines). It was spliced from two wires into one, and then spliced again into three wires, each going to a coil pack on the back bank. ANYONE KNOW WHAT WIRE THIS IS? It had a splice that needed to be reattached. I could jiggle the wire and my engine would shut off! ...anyway, so far so good. Please knock on some wood for me! later y'all! FLO_BOY |

Awesome Bro - that $hit stinks when you can't find the problem....

I think that was the ignition signal ground wire. Makes sense that your car was running like crap, without that ground, your ignition signal is useless.

wow! thanks for posting! I;m sure this might be the cause of some of the problems people seem to have around here! And...CONGRATS! :)

did your car even have a remote start system in it?? It could have been some dumb installer pokin around in the ignition coils trying to find a solid tach wire. Tach wire is used for the remote start.
or it could have been just a factory defect. But i would hope Nissan would wire better than that:eek: Ant |

My guess is someone cut it by accident, and did a poor job or re-attaching the wire  BUT, everything is just jim-dandy now, so...NEW TIRES HERE I COME!!! FLO_BOY |
