well, people who have it...remember that bend on it...where it rises up a little? anyway, it feels like when i put the hood down...it touches the hood. When the hood goes down with one click without force, it's fine. but i've realized that it takes a little more force to shut the hood compared to when there wasn't a FSTB in my car. does anyone know if it'll eventually dent the hood? i'm kinda of worried.

My FSTB touches the hood liner too... >>>>
Just barely so I stick some foam tape to where it touches.

Samething Here
wHEN i got my Courtesy FSTB, the brackets were red. Well, I painted then a couple layers of chrome paint to match the bar. Looks good. However, when I put the bar into my car, the driver's side bracket touches the hood liner and is rubbing away at my hard worked paint job on the FSTB. Basically, there is nothing you can do. I tried messing with the hood readjusting nuts the ever so slightly raises/lowers the height of the hood when it is closed, but that really didn't work. Try your manual or get the Haynes manual, it will tell you.

I got the courtesy FSTB a few weeks ago. I don't notice it being hard to close, but when I pop the hood it pops up hard. Before it would barely come up (i think the hood shocks are going)
I mean when I first pull the hood release lever, it pop up hard. I have no worries though |
Just installed the Courtesy FSTB and it came pre adjusted to the correct width but i noticed that the arch (which people are talking about how it touches the hood liner) was positioned outward, like towards the front of the car.
It touched the AC line a bit, but i tweaked the AC line so it doesnt touch at all now. Should the arch be up towards the hood liner? Or does it not matter....if it does matter, how do i re-position the arch? |
now im getting worried
Does it matter if the arch in my front strut bar isnt arches upwards toward the hood?

Re: Courtesy's FSTB
My FSTB is angled back toward firewall and doesn't touch at all. It does slightly alter the torque between the strut tops if you roll it forward but not so much you will notice it driving. Can't remember how it is threaded whether forward tightens orloosens the bar's brackets. I did have to cut out a notch on the drivers side to fit it in the holes though.

how would i go about
rolling the arch towards the hood?
