Help! Car won't start (again)
 

Hey guys,

My mom's maxima is having problems starting up again. A few months ago we had this problem and found out the battery was dead, so we replaced it. Now it's doing it again. The battery is is about 4 months old so I doubt that that battery is the cause. he car won't turn over. Could it be the starter? What else should I be looking for before I take it into the dealer and they charge me an arm and a leg? Thanks a bunch.

Do you headlights work? Do they shut off when you turn the key to the start position? If so your battery may not be getting a proper charge. Your alternator could be at fault.

If your lights work good, but you can't get the starter to turn, then your solinoid is shot. I think you'll have to replace the starter to fix that.

If the lights and everthing else works , I'd say you have a bad Starter. If it's completely dead and nothing works I'd say maybe a bad altenater
